Despite global market challenges, Ascend’s India operation has been a standout, gaining market share, improving overall performance, and embracing our company values.
We’ve focused on building a strong local team, optimizing operations, and deepening customer relationships. These efforts are beginning to pay-off, with our sales nearly doubling since the acquisition, driven by increased capacity and a customer-centric approach.
Customer-Focused Growth
Technical service has been key to our success, says Anandhan Thangavel, technical services and development leader.
“We constantly engage customers through workshops, meetings, and tech days,” he says. “It’s rewarding to support our sales team with the insights they need and to ensure customer applications are done right the first time.”
Looking ahead to 2025, the team is excited about the opportunities presented by growth and upgrade of country’s infrastructure in areas such as energy and transportation, says Shailesh Gupte, commercial leader for non-auto and cable tie sales.
Continuous Improvement
Alongside external strategies like customer segmentation and localized sourcing, the team has expanded capacity by adding a new compounding line and streamlining operations to reduce costs.
“We’re building broad awareness across the organization of our financial performance so that everyone is focused on driving results,” says Arudhra Mathur, country HR head. “We recognize employees not just for commercial growth, but also for cost and process optimization.”
